ArizonaLEND faculty member, Jim Dean AuD, is the director of the ARSOBO hearing health clinic. Dr. Dean co-authored the following article, highlighting the ways in which ARSOBO works toward advancing social inclusion of people with disabilities in Mexico.

Gabe Moreno (former ArizonaLEND trainee) co-authored the aritcle, Caretaker Awareness of Health Care Provided Developmental Screenings: Increases from 2007 to 2012. The article states that, "despite growth, there is still a need to increase developmental screening efforts in many states." The Association of Schools & Programs of Public Health (ASPPH) did a nice write-up on the article. Congratulations, Gabe!

October is National Disability Employment Awareness Month (NDEAM). At Northern Arizona University, Disability Heritage Month is currently underway with a number of activities, events and speakers. This year’s theme is Challenging Perceptions about Disability.

The ArizonaLEND Program, training professionals to be leaders in clinical care and research, has just received a $3 million continuation grant. The training program, which seeks to improve the health of children with neurodevelopmental disabilities, trains professionals in more than 15 disciplines.
