Since attaining a doctorate with distinction in Psychology, Dr. Candace J. Black has published eight articles, three book chapters, and obtained two small grants with a unifying theme around evolutionary-developmental models of child development, life history (LH), trauma, physical and reproductive health, and translational research.
Jaclyn Wolf
Jaclyn Wolf is a doctoral candidate in the School Psychology Program at the University of Arizona. Jaclyn previously attended California State University, Northridge, where she earned a bachelor’s degree in psychology with a minor in family studies, followed by a M.A. in clinical psychology.
Caroline Shanholtz
I am a fourth year doctoral candidate in the Clinical Psychology program at the University of Arizona. My work focuses on developing and evaluating interventions for families involved in the legal system. I earned my Masters of Counseling from Arizona State University in 2016 and worked at a community mental health agency working with children and families. I currently conduct therapy and assessments for youth in an outpatient psychiatry setting and conduct therapy for juveniles in detention.
Jade Heffern
Jade Heffern is a third year doctoral student in the Combined Counseling/School Psychology PhD program at Northern Arizona University (NAU). She completed a graduate certificate in Translational Research in Adolescent Behavioral Health from The University of South Florida in 2019. Through this certificate, she completed a research project that involved conducting a needs assessment for a Native American substance abuse prevention program for elementary and middle school students.
Caitlyn Francis
I am an advanced graduate student in the School Psychology PhD program at the University of Arizona, with a minor in Special Education. I am trained in conducting cognitive, academic, personality, behavioral, and early childhood assessments, and in administering evidenced-based therapeutic approaches. My dissertation research examines the effects of a computer-assisted reading intervention with high school students that struggle in reading. I have also been involved in graduate research with Dr.
