Caroline Shanholtz

I am a fourth year doctoral candidate in the Clinical Psychology program at the University of Arizona. My work focuses on developing and evaluating interventions for families involved in the legal system.  I earned my Masters of Counseling from Arizona State University in 2016 and worked at a community mental health agency working with children and families. I currently conduct therapy and assessments for youth in an outpatient psychiatry setting and conduct therapy for juveniles in detention. As a fellow in the LEND program, I have learned how to better work on multidisciplinary teams, a skill that is essential in working with the legal system, as well as better identify and treat youth with neurodevelopmental disabilities. My ultimate goal is to integrate this knowledge in my work in developing interventions for youth in the legal systems and provide better support for their families.
