Madelaine Heath is a second year graduate student in speech-language pathology at the University of Arizona, where she is pursuing the Bilingual Certificate option. She holds a passion for social justice and has extensive work experience bridging health and education disparities in and between populations. She also holds a background in education and is able to actively apply her experience as an elementary and preschool teacher in her clinical speech-language pathology work. She is bilingual in English and Spanish and has lived or worked in Argentina, Honduras, Ecuador and Mexico. As a LEND fellow, she is excited to learn about the utilization of inter-professional teams to approach community issues using a solution-focused, collaborative framework.
