Allyson Mitchell

An Arizona-local, Ally is pursuing her Master's in Speech Language Pathology at the University of Arizona. She previously received a Bachelor's degree in Communicative Disorders from the University of Alabama, and spent six months working with a small Deaf community in Bandung, Indonesia before returning to Arizona for graduate school. Following her time in Indonesia, Ally's interests shifted to expanding access to speech and language services to underdeveloped regions, where disabilities are heavily stigmatized. She completed a clinical placement in Kampala, Uganda, where she learned about culturally-sensitive service delivery and grew passionate about feeding therapy. Locally, she seeks to serve the many nations represented in Tucson by supporting those with communication and feeding disorders.
