Mentorship, Supervision, and Feedback for Professionals

Upon completion of this seminar, participants will be able to:
- Compare and contrast different communication styles and the value of these styles in effective leadership.
- Discuss the role of effective communication skills in establishing and maintaining trust in the workplace.
- Describe the elements of an effective feedback model.
- Practice providing feedback using an evidence-based model.
Communication Personality Styles
- Prior to the session, attendees will complete a survey of questions to determine their own DiSC communication style.
- Working in small groups, attendees will identify the attributes of different communication styles and learn how to effectively communicate with different styles to solve problems.
Relationship-Centered Communication Skills
- PowerPoint slides and small groups will be used to discuss the development and maintenance of trust and relationships in the workplace.
- PowerPoint slides will be used to review evidence-based communication skills and principles of active listening.
- Working in pairs, attendees will practice active listening and facilitative questioning with each other that can be used in future workplace communications.
Feedback
- PowerPoint slides will be used to review the elements of an evidence-based feedback model.
- Working in pairs, attendees will practice giving feedback to each other.
