Sara Zsenai

Sara Zsenai has been a Special Education Preschool Teacher for five years, and enjoys working for Flagstaff Unified School District. She received her BS in Elementary and Special Education with a certificate in Early Childhood Education from Northern Arizona University in 2009 and continued her education with a M.ED in Early Childhood Special Education from Northern Arizona University in 2011.

Howard Zlamal, M. Ed

My interests in this program are for me to gain leadership and conflict resolution skills.  Also, I would like to be able to understand different perspectives of different professionals across various disciplines (professions), as this will assist me to become a better professional myself.  I hope to use my experiences to guide me in this program as well as to learn from new experiences as this will also strengthen me as a professional.  Lastly, I intend to use my experiences with foreign languages to assist me when working with individuals internationally and ac

Nerissa Birdsell, BA

As a Special Education teacher for students with severe and multiple disabilities, my interest in participating in the AZLEND program is motivated by the needs that I see and by my passion for service. I hope to improve my leadership skills so that I can help improve the quality of life of for people with special health care needs as well as thier families.

Jody M. Bartz, PhD

I was proud to be part of the first AZLEND Trainee cohort (2011-2012)—what an incredible experience. During my year as a trainee, I ‘stretched’ the limits of technology—during the fall semester, I connected remotely from the U of A South campus in my hometown of Douglas, Arizona (2.5 hours away from Tucson) and during the spring semester, while on my externship, I connected remotely from the University of Washington in Seattle, WA! Talk about accommodating! My discipline is Special Education and I had the great fortune of having Dr. McGrath as my faculty advisor.
