Social Work

I am excited to participate in the AZLEND program for the next academic year. I have participated in other interdisciplinary programs, and I have found the experiences to be very helpful. My area of interest is working with families and individuals with developmental disabilities. As a social worker I understand how beneficial it is to the individuals and families when the whole team is working together. Along with learning from the other professionals I am very excited about the leadership component of AZLEND.

My particpation in the AZLEND program will enhance my career as a social worker. AZLEND will provide the opportunity to increase my understanding of the systemic issues surronding the care of children with disabilities and their families and to be prepared for effective action through collaboration with other disciplines. I would like to participate in the AZLEND program so as to prove that collaborative action is feasible and to persuade lawmakers to make serious changes in shaping more just social policies, particularly those that affect vulnerable populations.
