Karen graduated from the University of Maryland in 1977 with a BS degree in Physical Therapy. In 1993 she received her MS degree from the Department of Exercise Physiology, with an emphasis on Motor Control, from the University of Arizona. She is a member of the American Physical Therapy Association, Pediatric Section. She has worked primarily in pediatric physical therapy since 2000 - as physical therapist for Catalina Foothills School District, and at Tucson Medical Center (TMC). She is a treating physical therapist for a study lead by Dr. Duke Duncan, from the University of Arizona, Medical School, in conjunction with TMC, assessing the effectiveness of intensive therapy with the Perception Action Approach for young children with Cerebral Palsy. She was an AZLEND fellow in 2013.
